The Value Of A Prenatal Paternity Test
Some parents desire to know the sex of their unborn baby. A prenatal paternity test will be able to give this answer. The accuracy of this is reported as ninety nine point nine percent. These tests are only truly effective in determining the sex of a child if it is a single fetus. Mothers carrying twins will only get the truth if the twins are identical. It is never known for absolutely certain if this is the case while the mother is pregnant. There would be no refunds if there is DNA from more than one fetus and they are not identical.

In keeping with standard DNA paternity testing, scientists that are qualified analyze eighteen or twenty-three regions of DNA during a prenatal test. This makes the test two hundred and fifty thousand times more accurate than most other laboratories.
Most often, these type of paternity test cost is low and the accuracy is of the highest standard. As it is normal that parents would experience anxiety during this time, the labs should have a team of customer relations representatives and scientists on hand to field any questions.
In order for this test to be done a fluid sample needs to be taken from the womb. This procedure is invasive such as Amniocentesis or Chorionic Villus Sampling. These present a slight risk to the pregnancy. Often laboratories are less than keen to take these samples for this very reason.
Many women who have had an affair take these tests out. If the unborn child is not the child of the husband then these women are aborting the fetus. Many DNA laboratories are against testing, as there is an increased risk of miscarriage. These tests are becoming more popular in Britain as it is reported that one in twenty five men are rearing a child that is not their own.
There was a court case where a woman was under the impression that her mother’s husband was her father. It was later proved that this was not the case.
She had read her mother’s diary and found out that another man was her father. She then insisted on a paternity test. When the truth came out, the husband was shattered. This had done irreparable damage to his pride. The whole case left him a broken man. To further add insult to injury the man was unable to claim back any money that he had spent raising a child that was not his.
Many genetic testing firms report woman will spend something in the region of two hundred and thirty four pounds to see who is the rightful father of the fetus. Many pregnant women terminate the pregnancy if it is discovered that the husband is not the father.
One company reported that they do in the region of five hundred tests each year. A large percentage of these women requesting testing have admitted to having an affair. The spouse has cottoned onto the affair and now demands that testing be done. Alternatively, the wife wants to know whom the baby belongs to and she does not wish to discuss this with the husband. It is reported that the rate of testing has been increasing, as has the rate of abortions. There are pros and cons to a prenatal paternity test.
